Laguna Drones provides drones mapping services for large and small projects across the US and beyond.
We use the latest in high grade drone equipment to generate the images and high accuracy RTK GPS receivers from Emlid to generate the location data needed for our mapping projects.
Drone mapping services are very cost effective and ideally suited for tracking construction progress, stockpile inspections, agricultural projects, landscaping, vineyards and irrigation planning.
The resulting output will be an orthomosaic which from a relative accuracy point of view can have checkpoints built in for real world measurement/verification purposes, if absolute accuracy is required we can add GCP positioning with Ntrip corrections as needed during the collection process.
In general the mapping process involves the use of high quality drones, Photogrammetry software and high quality GPS measurement equipment. These individual systems and equipment as well as experienced operators are combined to capture accurate image and location data, (from air and ground) and process this data taking it from individual images, thru point cloud to an Orthmosaic and onto a finished product.
The drone provides quality images (RGB) with location data embedded in each image. In cases where the project calls for it, there will be Ground control points (GCP’s) visible in those images. These particular GCP locations will have been measured by our GPS measurement system (Emlid Reach System, Base & Rover) We use Pix4d Photogrammetry software to process this data and create accurate Orthomosaic maps of the target area.
Output are available across multiple specs to suit the specific import and compatibility requirements of your project. Outputs can range from Orthomosaic, Topographic, Digital Surface Models (DSM), Digital Terrain Models (DTM), 3D modelling with custom contours as needed.
We can provide relative accuracy and absolute accuracy to sub centimeter level. In the case of relative accuracy we are mainly focused on the accuracy of measurements within the site/locations to be mapped and so this would be common in volumetric, stockpile measurements, surface mining.
If absolute accuracy is needed we can integrate an Ntrip signal to obtain the corrections to RTK measurements and provide highly accurate sub centimeter level absolute coordinates.
